hi im a plankowner of the great ship uss boston cag-1 s-2 divi comm's storekeeper sk-3, my duty was to give out the coffee mess to all divi's, order store's for my small store room, give out suppy to the cook's for the galley and the baker shop for making bread and pie's and other baker food, i also had the key's to all the store room's mr smith wo-2 was in chg, bill best cs-1 was also a short time'er a 20 year man and more, in the next 3 month's chief...

Andy..you come from good stock,when family was everything and nobody messed with you relations without payback.I always remember what it was like back in the old days,1940's and 50's were so much different then now.Neighbors were friendly and stores used credit on your face and not on a card.Gas was cheap (a dollar would fill up the tank) and so were the movies (12 cents).We walked everywhere or if we could took our secondhand bikes without fenders.Life was good as it was te end of...

My great-grandfather Louis was 100% Sicilian. He married a 100% Irish woman, Rosy O'Grady, my great-grandmother.

I lived in the Bronx from 1954 to 1960. Born in Manhattan at Roosevelt Hospital.

I must have participated enough to be one of four Squad Leaders, be one of seven offered Annapolis, and receive a meritorious Private First Class promotion at graduation!

My recollections of Marine bootcamp were finally written down in the late 1990's, 25 years after the fact - I may have missed a few things........

Besides "WOW"...Let me also say, that was great. I assume you must have been jotting down this "stuff" for quite some time. If not, congratulations on a memory that I'm sorry to say must have left me many years ago...But then again, I did get out in July of 1961.

Truly enjoyed "Chapter One". I think in Portland Don, you should get together with Wesley, Jay and Art (All of you have something in common...Art with his "Tiger"...
