I was just reading more about the rescue...it seems that those "pirates" were a bunch of wannabes, only 16 or 17 years old.
Still, they were armed with automatic weapons; teenagers from a third world outhouse, armed like that is a sure fire recipe for disaster. If for some reason, the pirates who attempted to hijack the Maersk Alabama had been older, more experienced pirates, I wonder if the outcome would have been the same,
